AT FREEDOM RUN FARM, LAMB IS OUR PASSION.

Our heritage breed lamb is raised with a true commitment to sustainability, quality, and the highest regard for animal welfare. With a clean flavor profile, our lamb does not have a gamey taste and is equally perfect for the first time lamb eater or the life-long lamb lover.

We are committed to supporting our flock in the type of environment in which their bodies were designed to thrive. Our heritage breed sheep are raised on lush Kentucky pastures in fresh air and sunshine. The result is an exceptionally delicious and versatile lamb.

APPALACHIAN HERITAGE BREED

The Katahdin breed was specifically developed in this country to be a versatile, robust animal with exceptional carcass qualities of tender, mild lamb.

PASTURE RAISED

Allowing the sheep to forage for their food allows for these farmers to be better stewards of their land. Pasture grazing lamb produces clean fat (lower levels of lanolin).

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

Avoiding CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation) practices and allowing sheep to be pasture raised is more sustainable and environmentally friendly than other means of production.

NO HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS

Our shepherds never administer hormones or preventative antibiotics to their sheep, so consumers can always trust the quality of Freedom Run Farm Lamb.

PROPRIETARY FINISHING PROGRAM

Unlike most lamb, Freedom Run Farm Lamb is not grain finished, but instead finished with a proprietary blend of high-quality roughage, minerals, select grain and distiller’s stillage (we are in Kentucky after all) for the optimal health of the ruminant.

SUPERIOR FLAVOR & MARBLING

Due to our special breed, farming practices and unique finishing program, Freedom Run Farm Lamb is of superior quality with beautiful intramuscular marbling.

WHOLE ANIMAL PROGRAM

Our program of whole lamb utilization helps us create partnerships with chefs to join us in the commitment to sustainability, while bringing quality and integrity to their menus.
