Certified Freedom Run Farm lamb

We established the Certified Freedom Run Farm Lamb program in cooperation with the USDA. Since our beginnings in 2011, we have been dedicated to consistently producing the most delicious-tasting lamb on the market, the kind of lamb chefs would be excited to serve their customers. Our goal is to encourage people to enjoy this exceptional protein on an everyday basis.

This certified program ensures that our unique brand specifications—developed in collaboration with top chefs—remain the foundation of our brand more than a decade later. Our commitment to quality guarantees exceptional flavor and consistency in every bite, allowing you to rely on our products with confidence.

To qualify as Certified Freedom Run Farm Lamb, the following criteria must be met:

  1. Appalachian Heritage Breeds: The foundation is built on heritage breeds raised in fresh air and sunshine, fed a diet of grain and grass, producing exceptional flavor and finish.

  2. Large Frame Meaty Carcass: The lamb must yield a large, meaty carcass weighing between 85-95 pounds.

  3. Grade of Choice or Prime: The lamb must achieve a grade of Choice or Prime.

  4. Yield Grade of 3.9 or Lower: The lamb must meet a yield grade of 3.9 or lower, ensuring optimal marbelization.

This program establishes a benchmark for the quality and consistency that Freedom Run Farm Lamb is known for while also providing a framework of genetic performance data to support our producers as they work to enhance their flocks. We continue to innovate and enhance the delivery of our high-quality lamb products. Our network of shepherds has expanded from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to the multigenerational ranches in the Rockies. The USDA Certified Freedom Run Farm program ensures that these same high standards are consistently met.

This is not the lamb you’re used to.

Our heritage breed lamb is USDA Process Verified and raised specifically for the quality of the meat.

This means Freedom Run Farm Lamb is more tender and mild than virtually any other lamb available in the market today.
